Our Not for profit team has a wealth of experience and knowledge dealing with the statutory obligations around the external scrutiny of Charity and Not for Profit accounts.
We are fully aware of the importance of your financial statements to external stakeholders in terms of publicising the aims and achievements of your charity.
Working alongside your charity, we will tailor our audit to meet the needs of your organisation, focusing on the areas of greatest risk to your charity. We will develop an understanding of your operations and evaluate the risks associated with these activities.
Our aim is to not simply to undertake a box-ticking exercise to comply with relevant legislation but to provide your charity with useful advice highlighting any potential problems and helping you towards a solution.
Independent examinations – more than just number-checking and box-ticking
Provided a charity is not required by law or its governing document to have an audit, trustees may choose a simpler and less expensive form of external scrutiny called an independent examination.
Though an independent examination is a simpler form of scrutiny, it still provides trustees, funders, beneficiaries, stakeholders and the public with an assurance that the accounts of the charity have been independently reviewed.
If you’re unsure whether your charity needs and audit or independent examination, please contact our Charity and Not for Profit Team for details and how we can assist you.
