Local Councils
There are many reasons why local councils should be promoting clubs in their area to register with the scheme, these include:
Clubs registered as CASCs can actually save local authorities money as the business rates relief for CASCs has a greater contribution from the Government.
Many local authorities currently grant discretionary business rates relief to local sports clubs within their area. The council therefore has to incur 25% of this relief with 75% centrally funded.
CASC registered clubs granted 80% mandatory rates relief all of which is centrally funded and therefore incurs no cost to the council!
Unregistered clubs continue to miss out on millions of pounds worth of benefits.
Mandatory business rates relief forms an annual source of funds for clubs, generating a sustainable income stream allowing greater investment in the future of the club.
Plummer Parsons are happy to help local councils with the holding of seminars or presentations and are happy to offer this service free of charge. We can also provide leaflets and other documentation to hand out to delegates/attendees.
